Haskell Henson was born in Hanna, Oklahoma on August 17, 1942. During the Dust Bowl in 1953, Haskell and his family moved to California. They settled in Selma and Haskell attended Selma schools graduating from Selma High in June of 1961.
Haskell went on to attend Reedley College, Washington State and Fresno State. He worked for Selma Unified School District for 37 years. He also coached a couple of generations of students in track and cross-country.
Haskell has been married to his wife, Diane for 55 years. They have three children, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
